2017 Shiraz Viognier

Shiraz Viognier 2017

The wettest late winter/spring in memory made for a later than average start but set up the season beautifully.

Another warm/hot summer followed.

50 mm rain in late January.

40 mm in the second last week of March gave us some challenges, with a little late season botrytis, but nothing that judicious hand picking couldn’t conquer. A larger than average crop for the third year running.

Good flavours at relatively modest baumes. SV parcels were harvested between 13.0 and 13.5 baume.

Some argue this is Australia's greatest red wine, it is certainly one of the greatest Shirazs
