2019 Viognier

The weather leading up to vintage 2019 was marked by lower than average rainfall in Winter and Spring. Things were just starting to look seriously dry when two rain events in January came to our rescue, delivering 110 mm between them. The grapes were picked in perfect condition and full of intense flavour.

Barrel fermented with a year on lees in French 600L demi-muids, the Viognier makes such a distinctive wine. Fragrant orange blossom, musk and ginger aromas and a silky textured palate.

14% Alc/Vol

pH 3.47

Residual sugar 2.7 g/L

TA 5.0 g/L

Sulfur Dioxide (free) 45 mg/L

Barrel-fermented and matured in 600-litre oak. It’s smoky, powerful, tight wine with

sure-footed richness in both flavour and texture

terms but with a distinct, grippy tautness to the finish. It could be called the best of both worlds. Stonefruit, florals and heady/sweet spice notes complement the overtones of cedar smoke. Will age.
